Not feeling the recession, Porsche has opened this $130M museum in Stuttgart Germany. Wicked design by Delugan Meissl. More pictures here.

“Help Remedies was created to make solving simple health issues simple.” By focusing on the solution rather than the brand name, this company brings a fresh new approach to marketing basic health care products. The packaging is also compostable. Help was developed by Richard Fine and Nathan Frank, two young advertising executives from NY.

I wish I had one of these when I was in university, what a wonderful idea - to be able to have a lightweight, portable stove for whenever you need it. Or imagine having an oven in your kitchen, with no permanent stovetop - just coveted counterspace everywhere - you just plop out your placemat stovetop whenever/wherever you need it. The Cooka placemat stove is created of non-toxic LSR (Liquid Silicon Rubber) that you can roll up and stow away easily. The cooking plates heat up/cool down rapidly with silver thermal conduction.

This beast was built by Monaco based yacht maker Wally Construct in conjunction with Paris-based high-fashion luxury brand Hermes. With comfort in mind, this unique hull apparently tested incredibly well, showing very little movement in full swell. The designers also integrated a number of environmentally friendly features, including 900 square feet of solar paneling that feeds energy into its diesel electric engine. You can read and see more at WHY Yachts.

Calatrava’s high speed rail station in Belgium. There’s a solid overview on Inhabitat here, or you can check out the company site here (tons of excellent work to peruse). If the style looks familiar, he was the designer behind Toronto’s BCE Place.

He’s going to be showing in Toronto at Function 13 on September 26th. All the pieces are created from flash coding. Check out his site for more pictures and info. Hard to believe they’re not painted.

I just wanted to draw everyones attention to the contest we’re holding, featured on our side bar. Entries are already well underway, so get yours in soon! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS POST. PLEASE USE THE LINK ON THE MAIN DP PAGE UNDER ‘AMOEBACORP NEWS’ FOR YOUR CONTEST SUBMISSIONS. THANKS.

An incredibly smart reinvention of wall outlets by this Vancouver industrial designer and architect. He’s streamlined these outlets in such a way that makes you wonder why on earth we ever used the old ones. Have a look at his website here. Also, an interesting interview with Ego Design here.

A classic project from Naoto. The set also included a kiwi and strawberry version, all really great stuff.
