How is it possible that the helicopter isnt showing in the picture at the places where the spirals are? I smell a shop.

Unless Feininger invented the computer and Photoshop immediately after the landing of this helicopter, I don’t think “a shop” is what you smell… Perhaps a burnt onion?

long exposure with lights on blade tips then probably accompanied by a flash when the helicopter was on the ground.

Why does the helicopter lean to the left on take-off? This is due to the normal gyroscopic effect of the blade rotation. With practice you will soon learn to compensate for this.
