I couldn’t find much info about the company, apparently a NYC based design and art direction shop. Lots of interesting work on their minimal site (big fan of how simple they kept it). Have a look here.
Some great looking work and an awesome site from HelloVon, a studio set up by London based illustrator and artist Von. He does a great job of mixing realistic drawings and handwork into design. Check the site here. Reminds me of Si Scott.
Kind of like a factory farm for humans, I’ve seen similar things in video games, however imagine if this actually worked? This is a concept design for “a combination farm-restaurant-hotel-amusement park, designed to accommodate 1,000 visitors a day”. Thanks to Fast Company for the link.
some amazing artwork by canadian born artist chris dorosz.
“Out of material discovery I began to regard the primacy of the paint drop, a form that takes shape not from a brush or any human-made implement or gesture, but purely from its own viscosity and the air it falls through, as analogous to the building blocks that make up the human body (DNA) or even its mimetic representation (the pixel).”
Incredible bike company from Australia. Their style is a throwback to 40′s custom bike culture, designing bare bones motorcycles as well as fixed gear bicycles. Wicked brand, huge fan of the hand-done feel. Have a look at their site here.
Beautiful, striking, shocking Heath Ledger-directed video for Modest Mouse’s “King Rat” premiered earlier this month, over 18 months after the Academy Award-winning actor passed away tragically at the age of 28. “King Rat” was co-directed and illustrated by Daniel Auber with lead animation by Norris Houk, animation by Jade Taglioli and produced by Sara Cline. Read more about it’s creation on the Rolling Stone website.
