This year the RGD DesignThinkers conference celebrates its 10th Anniversary with one of the strongest line-ups of speakers ever assembled. With creative minds from as far afield as India, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S., this year is sure to be intriguing, informative and overall mind-blowing. The appeal of glamour is likely universal. In this video, cultural critic Virginia Postrel “muses on the true meaning, and the powerful uses, of glamour — which she defines as any calculated, carefully polished image designed to impress and persuade.”

The paradox of taking “play” seriously means that there has been very little academic research on the importance of play until very recently. Dr. Stuart Brown’s research shows play is not just joyful and energizing — it’s deeply involved with human development and intelligence. Click here to see the video.
