kermit jacket

This is one of the most horribly wonderful things I’ve ever seen. It’s kitch at it’s most brilliant. This is what happens when you let artists design your clothes. Apparently Lady Gaga has a team of artists that help design her wardrobe. She wore this wonderful thing for an interview in Germany recently, she walked into the interview as if she is wearing a mink jacket. Remember those mink jackets from the 1930’s-40’s era - that actually had mink heads on them? Made me wonder what Ms. Piggy would have thought about this - yikers. Imagine the possibilities though,Lady Gaga could start a spoof of Hermes, and call it “Kermes”.

Handbags by Simon Trudeau

I just came back from a quick lunchtime walk through the TO Outdoor Art Exhibition. It’s amazing to see a wide variety of artists/designers - along with their work in an outdoor venue. There was a lot of predictable work, but also some rare innovative pieces that really struck me - such as these handbags by Simon Trudeau. Simon has a a background in Visual Arts and Industrial Design. His website is currently under construction, however you can learn more about his work here.

That Menacing Stare

It’s a bit hard to write even a sentence about a duo that is so enigmatic and cryptic. It feels anything I say may take away from the amazing body of work they’ve created. With that said, the work reminds me a bit of Matthew Barney’s work from his Cremaster Cycle. It might have something to do with that menacing stare.

Check out Lucy and Bart’s site here, it’s worth it just to make their faces morph back and forth. Trust me.

WAD magazine

WAD’s an urban fashion and culture magazine that takes a really unique approach to its publishing. Not only have they set up a totally awesome way to navigate older editions on their site, they’ve also reworked how each issue is themed and edited. A guest editor, that is usually a top player in a particular industry (including the head of Ed Banger Records), is given free rein over their own issue. Here
